Katie Swatland's intense curiosity for all matters of existence led her to pursue a formal education in the sciences. Trained as a mechanical engineer, she harnesses a deep affection for theoretical physics. She is a passionate advocate of cross-disciplinary undertakings as a way to deepen the practice and understanding of one's primary chosen life's work.
By the age of 18, after many years spent building cities out of Legos, and drawing maps for the labyrinths found in The Legends of Zelda, she was already well convinced that her method of discipline lay in the artistic realm. Instead of choosing the traditional path of attending art school, she decided to first pursue an education in engineering in order to satisfy her developing love affair with Calculus.
Upon graduating magna cum laude, she declined offers for graduate research in order to maintain course for the field in the arts, where she currently resides . . .
